![]() ![]() (Maybe they plan to, but it seems doubtful. I think a coop M&B would be an absolute runaway hit, and I don't know why they haven't invested the effort. For whatever reason it never made it out of a few genres, even though those games were wildly popular, and the MP was a big part of that. Even the Total War series made a misguided attempt for some drop-in battles where you could control the AI in a random person's campaign battle. The kingdom building sandbox style gameplay found in the campaign is currently limited to single-player, however numerous modes exist to enable competitive play. There was a big push for drop-in/out coop for a few years with games like Dead Island, Dark Souls, Borderlands. The lands of Calradia await you and your friends in Mount & Blade II Bannerlord, but multiplayer functionality is limited to a few modes. It's not like this is a purely single player game you want to add MP to, like TES, Fallout, etc (though I'm baffled why devs don't think people want coop for those games). Its inarguably the single biggest request Mount and Blade fans have had since 2008. I realize it's not trivial, but it's not like baking an apple pie. My takeaway from this is just how baffling it is that TaleWorlds hasnt implemented (or been able to) even a rudimentary co-op mode for Bannerlord. Multiple concurrent player armies on the same map is another beast entirely. It can't be that complicated to at least allow another player or players to drop-in to your battles as companions or units at the very least. That said, they have the framework for MP already in place.
